CPR Classes

Importance of CPR

According to the American Heart Association (AHA), more than 350,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests occur in the United States. Approximately 70% of out of hospital cardiac arrests happen in homes. Although we have the fastest response times in Allegheny County, we know, that if we are not already next to the patient when a cardiac arrest happens, we are not fast enough. That is why we rely on bystanders and family members to do CPR until our crews can arrive to help your loved one. According to the AHA, CPR, especially if performed immediately before EMS arrives, can double or triple a cardiac arrest victim’s chance of survival.

CPR Classes

Because NorthWest EMS understands the importance of CPR, we teach multiple levels of CPR. The first is HeartSaver CPR and AED. This class is appropriate for anyone who wants to be familiar with CPR and AED usage. This class is great for babysitters, students, teachers, parents and any member of the community who would like to know how to do CPR.

We also offer a BLS CPR Class for Health Care Providers. This class is appropriate for any healthcare provider who needs this certification. If you are interested in either class, please contact Keith Jankowski at kjankowski@northwestems.net.

EMT Patient Contacts
I want to say I have had great experience working with the men and women of this business for my 10 patient contacts for my EMT class.
-Carolyn Klingensmith
treat you like family
I have had to call them several times for my mother who was having a severe asthma attack and when my brother amputated his toe. always prompt responses and they treat you like family. couldn't ask for a better service to treat my family. -Staci Concepcion
Thank God for Northwest EMS!
My car called 911 upon my accident. I was not physically able to do so. By the time I came back to reality I was being surrounded by paramedics who seamed to be working like a well oiled machine. Before I knew it I was on my way to Mercy. Thank God for Northwest EMS! -Adam Beaver
The Best
